Most children experience difficulties at some point in their school career. I offer support in all aspects of Maths  and Literacy in sessions which are planned specifically for individual needs and abillities.

I am a qualified teacher with over 20 years experience as a class teacher. I started my own tuition buisness in 2013 and now work with clients aged between 5 and 16.

Many children who are experiencing difficulties at school also feel less confident about asking for help. By working 1:1  with them in their own homes, they are more relaxed and their confidence grows as well as their skills.

I have experience of helping children to prepare for end of year tests, KS1 and KS2 SATs the 11 plus and GCSEs. I  can help to fill gaps in understanding, support  with tricky school homework as necessary and set additional homework if this is requested.

What would a session involve?

• Sessions are usually an hour each week
• I come to your home and bring all learning materials - you only need to provide somewhere quiet to work, and perhaps a cup of tea!
• Teaching methods will be varied throughout the session in order to maintain focus
• Games and practical tasks are often used to practise the skills taught
• Discussion and questioning are on-going throughout the session to ensure understanding
• At the end of the session, I will review your child's learning with them and agree the focus for the following session
• Feedback will be given to you at the end of each session so that you can continue to support the child's learning between sessions
